The solar system consists of the Sun and everything that travels around the Sun. This includes the eight planets .Earth is the 3rd planet from the Sun, and it has one Moon. It is the only planet in our Solar System which is suitable for life.
There are seven continents: Asia, Africa, North America, South America, Antarctica, Europe, and Australia.
There are oceans on the Earth. They are the Pacific, the Atlantic, the Indian, the Antarctic, and the Arctic.
There are about 200 countries on the Earth. There are over 7 billion people on the Earth.
There are various animals and plants on the Earth.

- Earth is the third planet from the sun. It is our home and the only planet we know that has life.
- About 71% of Earth’s surface is covered in water. That’s why it looks blue from space!
- Our planet spins like a top. It takes 24 hours to make one full spin. This is why we have day and night.
- Earth travels around the sun in a big circle called an orbit. One complete trip takes 365 days, which we call a year.
- We have four different seasons: spring, summer, fall, and winter. This happens because Earth is tilted as it moves around the sun.
- Earth has a special blanket of air called the atmosphere. It protects us from harmful sun rays and keeps us warm.
- There are millions of different types of living things on Earth. From tiny bugs to huge whales, our planet is full of life!
- Earth has one moon. The moon helps control our ocean tides and looks beautiful in the night sky.
- The highest point on Earth is Mount Everest, which is taller than 29,000 feet. That’s higher than most airplanes fly!
- Earth is like a giant recycling machine. Water moves in a cycle, rocks break down and form new rocks, and plants and animals help each other survive.

I am an Armenian. I live in Armenia. It is one of the ancient countries of the world. Yerevan is the capital city of Armenia. Armenia is known for its beautiful landscapes, its cuisine, culture and history.
There are many interesting places such as Echmiatsin, Sardarapat, Tatev Monastry, Zvatrnots and Garni Temples.
There are many mountains such as Aragats and Hatis, there are many rivers such as Hrazdan and Arax. But the most beautiful place is the lake Sevan.
There are many churches and monuments, interesting museums and other places in Armenia.
I love my country very much and I am proud to be Armenian.

- The country has big, tall mountains. Mount Ararat is the most famous mountain. It’s so pretty that people tell lots of stories about it.
- Armenia makes delicious bread called lavash. It’s a soft, thin bread that people love to eat with almost everything.
- Many animals live in Armenia. You can find bears, wolves, and lots of cool birds in the mountains and forests.
- Armenian children love to celebrate! They have fun holidays with music, dancing, and special foods that make everyone happy.

I live in Yerevan. Yerevan is the capital city of Armenia. It is one of the oldest cities in the world .Yerevan is known as the “pink city” for the color many buildings.
There are many interesting places in Yerevan such as Republic Square, Matenadaran, and Gafesjian center for the arts and so on.
There are many beautiful parks, museums , churches and monuments in Yerevan, but my favorite places are Yerevan Park and Yerevan Zoo.

There is a bus stop, a bakery, a restaurant not far from my house.

Armenian traditions for New Year and Christmas celebrations
Happy New Year and Merry Christmas to all the people in the world!
I want to tell you about Armenian traditions for New Year and Christmas celebrations.
Armenians celebrate New Year on the 1st of January, then Christmas on 6th of January. Everyone decorate their houses with lights and Christmas trees and make many kinds of delicious food, a huge leg of pork, Armenian dolma, pasuts dolma ,turkey, chicken, fish, blinchik, different kinds of salads, kufta and ishli kufta.
The New Year starts at midnight of the 31st of December. Members of the families get together, congratulate each other. After celebrating and wishing happy New Year to each other Armenians start to visit their neighbors, relatives and friends. The hero of the holiday is Armenian Dzmer Pap who always brings many presents.
Armenians are the first nation to adopt Christianity as state religion in 301 AD and they celebrate Christmas on the 6th of January. People bring Christmas fire from churches to their homes. To celebrate Christmas woman usually cook rice with raisins and fish
